What can I expect from a Cyber Mentoring session?
Cyber Mentoring sessions are conducted online (via video conferencing) and last for 60 minutes. Each session is tailored to your specific needs and goals. You can expect to:
Discuss your career aspirations and receive personalized advice.
Work on specific skill development, such as technical skills, communication, or leadership.
Gain valuable insights from a seasoned cybersecurity professional.
Engage in discussions, practical exercises, mock interviews, or resume reviews, depending on your needs.
How is Cyber Mentoring different from other professional development programs?
Our Cyber Mentoring program focuses on personalized, one-on-one mentorship. Unlike courses or online programs, our mentoring provides direct access to experienced industry professionals who can offer tailored guidance based on your individual circumstances. We emphasize practical skills development, real-world application, and career advancement strategies.
Can I choose my mentor?
Currently, mentor selection is not available, but we are actively working to bring more mentors onboard and implement the ability to choose within the platform. Stay tuned for updates and the opportunity to select the mentor who best fits your needs!
How do I choose a Cyber Mentor?
We encourage you to explore our mentor profiles, which detail their areas of expertise, experience, and coaching style. You can then choose a mentor whose skills and background best align with your needs and goals.
Why do our mentors use pseudonyms?
Many of our mentors are actively working in sensitive cybersecurity roles. To protect their identities and the organizations they serve, they often use pseudonyms. This allows them to share valuable insights and experiences without compromising security or confidentiality. This practice is common in the cybersecurity industry and ensures that our mentors can provide the most authentic and relevant guidance while maintaining necessary privacy.
How many Cyber Mentoring sessions do I need?
The number of sessions depends on your individual goals and progress. Some clients benefit from a few targeted sessions, while others opt for ongoing mentorship. We recommend starting with 1 session where your goals can be discussed with your mentor.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel a session?
We require 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Changes can be made directly from your booking confirmation email.
What are the qualifications of your mentors?
Our mentors are experienced cybersecurity professionals and professors with a proven track record of success. They bring a wealth of real-world knowledge and academic expertise to their coaching sessions. You can learn more about each mentor's qualifications on their individual profiles.
Why are mentor hours limited?
Our mentors are highly experienced cybersecurity professionals who are actively working in the field. They offer their coaching services outside of their full-time jobs, which means their availability can be limited. This ensures you're receiving guidance from individuals who are currently immersed in the cybersecurity world and have the most up-to-date knowledge and insights.
What are the typical hours of mentor availability?
Mentor availability varies. Many mentors offer evening and weekend sessions to accommodate different schedules. You can see the specific availability of each mentor when you browse their profiles and check their booking calendars.
What if I can't find a time that works for me?
If you're having trouble finding a time that works with a particular mentor, we recommend checking the availability of other mentors. We're continuously working to expand our mentor network and increase availability. You can also reach out to us at support@cyber-grace.ca and we can try to assist you.
How often is mentor availability updated?
Mentor availability is updated regularly, often weekly. We encourage you to check back frequently, as new time slots may become available.
Will more mentors be added to increase availability?
